The Flintstones used to be one of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid. I loved it so much, I would walk home from school at lunch time packed lunch in my hand, watch it, then go back to school. Much to the surprise of my mum, who thought i was going to be at school all day.
Anyway, I digress... onto the Flintstone slots game...
At this stage, it's worth pointing out that this is an entertainment style game, rather than a slot players game.
So, the Flintstones slots is set up in pinball fashion, like some of the new lord of the rings games and also has a huge video screen above that, the second screen that plays a big role in creating the overall playing atmosphere and also, in the bonus games.
There is a regular bonus in the gameplay itself that triggers at random. Interestingly, you can adjust the frequency of Horne number of times this bonus hits. You select more times it plays and you get a lower payout multiple and vice versa.
This is the Yabba Dabba Do bonus. When it triggers, you hear the famous call from Fred and then you get a whole bunch of things happening one after another. Fed and Barney might fly across the screen throwing wild symbols about. You might also get Wilma providing some stacked wilds as well as Dino.
Then, as well as the stacked wilds, you will also most likely see Fred sitting at work on his dinosaur pulling the screen up to elongate it. Is is just like in the Wonka slots game and it gives you loads more pay-lines and chances to hit a big win.
The end result is a single spin, which gives great winning potential. It is a little slow, but who cares about that when you are winning money?
The bonus game I got to play was the Dino bonus. This one is hilarious - Dino comes into he room and jumps on Fred, then starts to lick him. The more he licks, the more points you get. The animation is wonderful and it's really a lot of fun to play.
There is also a bam bam bonus, which gives out free wilds. I never got to play this one, but did see someone else playing it nod that also looked like great fun.
Flintstones slots is definitely one I will look out for next time I am in Vegas.
Upon first sight, The Flintstone slots game, by WMS, looks similar in style to some of the other cartoon/animation slot machines. For example, the Jetsons which was released the year before.
But, once you start playing Flintstones slots, that's when you start to realize just how much work has gone into this game and how good it is.
